Run the Valley 2017

Legacy Rehabilitation Group was proud to be a Silver sponsor of Golden Valley's 23rd Annual Run the Valley on April 29, 2017. The race was headquartered outside of Davis Community Center at Meadowbrook School and extended throughout nearby residential areas of Golden Valley. As one of the main fundraisers for the Golden Valley Human Services Fund, all proceeds from Run the Valley benefit nonprofits serving Golden Valley residents in need. 

For 2017, the Golden Valley Human Services Fund allocated $60,000 to 12 local human service organizations. To learn more about these local human service organizations, please visit the GVHSF's fund allocations webpage.

CEU at Our Central Clinic

We had a packed house in our Golden Valley clinic today as we welcomed Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics in for a Continuing Education session on the topic of Spinal Orthoses. Our Administrator, Matt, guided a group of Assisted Living residents through an array of exercises to help promote strength and balance. As we learned in this session, there are 3 things every person should work on: building strength to promote balance, stretching to increase flexibility, and cardio to improve endurance. In older adults, cardio could simply be getting up and walking.
